TURMERIC:

Turmeric, commonly known as haldi in India has been used in foods and as a medicine for over 4,000 years! The superfood is known to be one of the most powerful herbs in assisting the treatment and prevention of several diseases. Its anti-inflammatory properties help with treating arthritis, depression, heart diseases and other degenerative conditions. Adding turmeric as an ingredient to your meals is also known to help improve brain function, reduce cholesterol levels and heal wounds, amongst other interesting benefits!

KALE:

With its broad nutrition profile, studies show that Kale can provide up to 200% of your daily vitamin A, 130% of your daily vitamin C and nearly 700% of your daily vitamin K requirements! It is believed to help fight asthma, cardiovascular diseases and rheumatoid arthritis. This superfood is also known to keep many types of cancer at bay, as well as prevent premature skin aging. AMARANTH:

Amaranth is another great ingredient we use in our kitchens. The highly nutritious and gluten free superfood is perfect for anyone looking to eat smart and healthy! Rich in antioxidants, studies show that it helps improve immunity, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure levels and also assists remarkably with inflammatory conditions like muscles aches and pains. Amarnath is also a very rich source of protein and is more digestible than other seeds and grains.

WHEATGRASS:

A true superfood, wheatgrass is packed with nutrients, vitamins, minerals and even all nine essential amino acids! According to a study by the American Cancer Society, regularly consuming wheatgrass can have a positive impact on the treatment and prevention of common colds and fevers, infections, constipation, skin issues such as eczema, and even cancer. It is also known to help increase the red blood cell count, can neutralise toxins in the body and has anti-aging benefits.

Wheatgrass also contains a number of other nutrients that are beneficial to the body. These include:

  • Vitamin A: Beneficial to skin and eyes
  • Vitamin C: Helps boost the immune system
  • Vitamin E: Assists in maintaining healthy skin and muscle growth.
  • Vitamin B12: Helps support healthy brain function.
  • Iron: Can improve blood production
  • Zinc: Helps promote sexual health.
  • Phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium: Helps strengthen the bones
  • Potassium: Could reduce the risk of stroke and hypertension.

HEMP SEEDS & OIL

Hemp seeds and oil are both unique for being complete sources of protein, packed with energy, enzymes and amino acids! They can help boost your immune system and help decrease inflammation. Rich in Omega-3, 6 and 9 which are all very important for brain functions, hemp oil and seeds are truly incredibly nutritious and may be of great benefit for skin disorders! Hemp seeds may also help reduce the risk of heart diseases and help reduce the symptoms of PMS and/or menopause. We use the seeds and oils in salads, smoothies, porridge, and chutneys.
